‘A × B’ means ‘A is the father of B’.
‘A + B’ means ‘A is the mother of B’.
‘A ÷ B’ means ‘A is the daughter of B’.
‘A − B’ means ‘A is the son of B’.
How is W related to Z in ‘W×X+Y − Z’?
Answer: B
W is the father-in-law of Z. In W×X+Y−Z, W is the father of X, X is the mother of Y, and Y is the son of Z. Y's mother is X, so Y's father must be Z, which makes X and Z husband and wife. W is the father of X, so W is the father of Z's wife, that is Z's father-in-law. Mother-in-law would need W to be female, which a father is not, and sister or brother would make W a sibling of Z, which the chain does not give.
