In a certain code language, 'A + B' means 'A is the father of B', 'A - B' means 'A is the sister of B', 'A × B' means 'A is the brother's son of B', 'A ÷ B' means 'A is the son of B'. Based on the above, how is G related to K if 'G - H + I × J ÷ K'?
Answer: D
G is K's daughter. G - H means G is H's sister. H + I means H is I's father. I x J means I is the son of J's brother, so H is J's brother (I's father). J / K means J is the son of K. So K is the father of J and of H. G is H's sister, so G is also K's child, and since G is a sister she is K's daughter. She cannot be K's mother or wife, and the question asks how G is related to K, not to H, so Sister is wrong. Each symbol stands for a relation. The plus sign means father, the minus sign sister, the multiplication sign brother's son and the division sign son. Reading G - H + I x J / K from the left builds the family tree step by step: G and H are siblings, H is the father of I, I is the nephew of J, and J and H are sons of K.
