If PXQ means P is daughter of Q, P+Q means P is father of Q, P*Q means P is mother of Q, P-Q means P is brother of Q, then in the expression AXB*C-D X F, how are B and F related?
Answer: A
B and F are wife and husband.
Read the expression A X B * C - D X F one symbol at a time:
- A X B: A is the daughter of B.
- B * C: B is the mother of C.
- C - D: C is the brother of D.
- D X F: D is the daughter of F.
B is the mother of C, and C is D's brother, so B is D's mother too. D is also the daughter of F. A child's two parents are her mother B and her father, so F is the father, and B and F are wife and husband.
Nothing makes B and F siblings, and neither is the other's child, so the remaining options fail.
