Discussion
A, B, C, D, E, F and G are members of a family consisting of 4 adults and 3 children, two of whom, F and G are girls. A and D are brothers and A is a doctor. E is an engineer married to one of the brothers and has two children. B is married to D and G is their child. Who is C ?
Answer: D
C is A's son.
A and D are brothers. B is married to D, so E, who is married to one of the brothers, must be A's wife. G is the child of B and D. The family has 3 children, F, G and C; E has two of them, so F and C are the children of A and E.
F and G are the only girls, so C is a boy, the son of A (and E). C cannot be G's brother (G's parents are B and D), and he is a child, not anyone's father.
The 4 adults are A, D, B and E, which confirms the structure: two brothers and their wives.
