If the speed of a boat in still water is 20 kmph and the speed of the current is 5 kmph, then the time taken by the boat to travel 100 kms with the current is?
Answer: C
The time taken is 4 hours.
With the current, the boat's speed is the still-water speed plus the current's speed:
\[ \begin{aligned} v &= 20 + 5 = 25\ \text{km/h} \\ t &= 100/25 = 4\ \text{h} \end{aligned} \]
Against the current the speed would be 15 km/h and the time about 6.7 hours. 2 and 3 hours would need speeds of 50 and 33 km/h, and 7 hours matches no speed in the question.
