Assertion (A) : In control system design, the transfer function consists of both poles and zeros. To make the system stable, the poles plotted in Bode plot should be near to origin.
Reason (R) : The zeros must be also near to origin.
Answer: D
The key takes the assertion as false and the reason as true, the fourth option. The stability of a system does not depend on how near the poles are to the origin, and the condition is that the poles lie in the left half of the s-plane, so the assertion is false.
The key accepts the reason on zeros as the true statement. The options which accept the assertion, the first, second and third, are wrong, since the assertion about poles being near the origin does not give stability.
