State whether the following is true or false.
A cell that excludes trypan blue is certainly healthy.
Answer: C
Exclusion shows only that the membrane is intact, and a cell can be committed to apoptosis while still excluding the dye. The test is a useful screen rather than a verdict on the state of the cell. Apoptotic cells commonly exclude it until quite late in the process.
