Which forming process produces very high strength safety cage members?
Answer: B
Boron steel blanks are heated to about 900 degrees, formed and quenched in the die, producing a martensitic structure with a tensile strength above 1500 megapascals. Such members form the A and B pillars and the roof rails of the safety cage. They cannot be repaired by straightening and must be replaced entirely after damage.
