Which one of the following is a group consisting of elements only ?
Answer: B
The group of elements only is Tin, Lithium, Sodium.
An element is a substance made of only one kind of atom. Tin (Sn), lithium (Li) and sodium (Na) are all metallic elements found in the periodic table.
Each other group contains an alloy, a mixture of metals (or of a metal and another element). Steel is an alloy of iron with carbon, brass is copper with zinc, and bronze is copper with tin. Iron, zinc, potassium, copper and aluminium are elements, but one alloy is enough to spoil a group.
