(a) These type of animals are not found here.
(b) Gandhiji was born at Gujarat.
(c) Mathematics are a difficult subject.
(d) I had gone to the station before the train arrived.
Answer: D
The correct sentence is I had gone to the station before the train arrived.
Of two past actions, the earlier one is put in the past perfect and the later in the simple past. Going to the station came first, so had gone is right, and arrived is right for the later event.
The others contain errors. 'These type of animals' should be 'This type of animal' or 'These types of animals', since the determiner must agree with type. 'Born at Gujarat' should be 'born in Gujarat': at is used for a small place such as Porbandar, in for a state. 'Mathematics are' should be 'Mathematics is', since the name of a subject ending in -ics takes a singular verb.
