Four of the following five are alike in a certain way based on the given arrangement and thus form a group. Which is the one that does not belong to that group?
Answer: B
Correct answer: A- Canara Bank
All eight face the centre, so each person’s left is the next seat clockwise and their right the next seat anticlockwise.
Put the Canara representative in place; F sits two seats to his right and the Bank of India representative beside him. B is three seats from Bank of India, and C and E - who must be neighbours and may touch neither B nor Canara - then have only one pair of seats available. D is neither Canara nor Bank of India, and the Bank of Maharashtra representative sits two to D’s right, which fixes D. G must sit beside the UCO representative, B is not UCO, and only one arrangement then satisfies the Punjab National–Syndicate spacing, the single seat between C and Oriental Bank of Commerce, and H three seats to the left of Dena.
Clockwise the table reads H (Canara) → A (Bank of Maharashtra) → B (Syndicate) → D (Oriental Bank of Commerce) → E (Punjab National) → C (Dena) → F (UCO) → G (Bank of India).
In H–UCO, D–Bank of Maharashtra, E–Syndicate and F–Punjab National, each person is paired with the bank whose representative sits second to their right. A–Canara Bank breaks the pattern: the Canara representative, H, sits immediately to A’s right.
