If MADRAS can be written as NBESBT, how can BOMBAY be written in that code ?
Answer: B
Correct answer: CPNCBZ
Each letter advances one place: MADRAS becomes NBESBT. BOMBAY therefore gives B→C, O→P, M→N, B→C, A→B, Y→Z, the Y wrapping round to Z. Since B appears twice in BOMBAY, C must appear twice in the code, which is true of every option here - the final letter is what separates them.
