Consider the following statements about tolerance regions.
1. Delta E ab defines a spherical region around the standard.
2. Weighted formulae define an ellipsoid oriented in the space.
3. The two shapes accept exactly the same set of batches.
Answer: A
The first two are correct and follow from the formulae. The third is not so, and batches accepted by one may be rejected by the other. Shape as well as size differs between them. Acceptance sets therefore differ in membership.
