Consider the following statements about measuring dark samples.
1. Stray light has a proportionally larger effect on dark readings.
2. The lightness function is steepest at low reflectance.
3. Dark samples are the easiest to measure reliably.
Answer: D
The first two are correct and compound one another. The third is the opposite of the truth, since dark samples are among the most demanding to measure well. Two effects compound one another there. Black trap measurements characterise the stray light.
