Mach Number (Ma) for incompressible flow is :
Answer: D
Flow is treated as incompressible when Ma < 0.3.
Below a Mach number of about 0.3, the density of a gas changes by only a few per cent as it flows, so it can be treated as incompressible with little error. Above that, compressibility effects become significant and must be included.
Ma = 0.3 is the boundary rather than the region, and Ma > 0.3 or Ma > 0.4 describe flows where compressibility can no longer be ignored.
