How many Mega Bytes are there in a Tera Byte (TB) ?
Answer: B
A terabyte holds 1024 × 1024 megabytes.
In binary units each step up is a factor of 1024:
\[ \begin{aligned} 1\ \text{TB} &= 1024\ \text{GB} \\ 1\ \text{GB} &= 1024\ \text{MB} \\ 1\ \text{TB} &= 1024 \times 1024\ \text{MB} \end{aligned} \]
1024 alone is the number of gigabytes in a terabyte. 1024 × 1024 × 1024 is the number of kilobytes in a terabyte, and four factors give the number of bytes.
