Which of the following belongs to Porter's value chain model classified support activities in e-commerce?
Answer: A
Among the options, procurement is a support activity.
Michael Porter's value chain divides a firm's activities into primary activities, which directly create and deliver the product (inbound logistics, operations, outbound logistics, marketing and sales, and service), and support activities, which help the primary ones (firm infrastructure, human resource management, technology development and procurement).
Procurement, the purchasing of inputs, is therefore a support activity. Marketing and sales, operations and inbound logistics are all primary activities in Porter's model, in e-commerce as elsewhere.
