Which of the following is a type of Internet connection that uses telephone lines ?
Answer: A
The connection that uses telephone lines is DSL.
A Digital Subscriber Line carries data over the ordinary copper telephone line, using frequencies above those used for voice, so the same line can carry a phone call and broadband data at once. ADSL, the asymmetric form, gives faster download than upload speeds.
Cable internet uses the coaxial cable network of cable television, fibre optics uses glass fibres that carry light, and satellite internet uses radio links to satellites; none of these runs over telephone lines.
