The Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, which came into force on 1 July 2024, repeals and replaces the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973.
The Indian Penal Code was replaced by the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Indian Evidence Act by the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam. The Criminal Law Amendment Act is a separate amending law, not a code.
