Which of the following is/are considered as consumer rights under Consumer Protection Act of 1986 ?
(1) Right to choose
(2) Right to be heard
(3) Right to seek redressal
(4) Right to return
Select the correct option :
Answer: B
The rights are only 1, 2 and 3.
Section 6 of the Consumer Protection Act, 1986 listed the rights the Consumer Protection Councils were to promote: the right to be protected against hazardous goods, to be informed, to be assured access to a variety of goods at competitive prices (the right to choose), to be heard, to seek redressal and to consumer education.
A 'right to return' goods is not among them, so any option including it is wrong.
