Which of the following is not an official language of Meghalaya ?
Answer: C
The language that is not official in Meghalaya is Lepcha.
Under the Meghalaya State Language Act, 2005, English is the official language of the state and Khasi and Garo are associate official languages. Lepcha is not a language of Meghalaya at all: it is spoken by the Lepcha people of Sikkim and the Darjeeling hills, and is one of Sikkim's official languages.
Jaintia (Pnar) is not named in the Act either, but it is a Meghalaya language of the Khasi group, spoken in the Jaintia Hills, which is how the paper treats it. Lepcha is the option with no connection to the state.
