Following was one of the pioneering theorists of cultural studies in Britain :
Answer: C
The pioneering cultural studies theorist is Raymond Williams.
Williams's Culture and Society (1958) and The Long Revolution (1961), with his claim that 'culture is ordinary', laid the foundations of British cultural studies, together with Richard Hoggart and E.P. Thompson. He later developed cultural materialism.
I.A. Richards was a pioneer of practical criticism, Walter Pater a Victorian aesthete, and C.S. Lewis a medievalist and novelist. None of them worked on popular and working-class culture as Williams did.
