Who is C's partner in a game of cards involving four players A, B, C and D ?
Statements:
1. D is sitting opposite to A.
2. B is sitting right of A and left of D.
Answer: C
Correct answer: Either 1 or 2 is sufficient
In a four-handed game partners sit opposite one another. Statement 1 places D opposite A, so the remaining two, B and C, are partners. Statement 2 puts B between A and D, which again leaves C opposite A and therefore partnered with... in each case the seating is determined and C’s partner identified, so either statement alone answers the question.
