Who among P, Q, R, S and T is the lightest?
Statements:
1. R is heavier than Q and T but lighter than S.
2. S is not the heaviest.
Answer: D
Correct answer: Neither 1 nor 2 is sufficient
Statement 1 puts both Q and T below R without ordering them against each other, so the lightest is one of the two but which is unknown. Statement 2 concerns only the top of the order. Together they still leave Q and T unranked, so the lightest cannot be named.
