What is Sumit's position from the right end in a row of children?
Statements:
1. There are 10 children between Sumit and Rajan.
2. Rajan is twentieth from the left end of the row of children.
Answer: D
Correct answer: Neither 1 or 2 is sufficient
Statement 2 places Rajan twentieth from the left and statement 1 puts ten children between him and Sumit, which fixes Sumit’s position from the left as either ninth or thirty-first. But the total number of children in the row is never given, so the position from the right cannot be computed at all.
