International Year of Millets was celebrated in the year
Answer: A
The International Year of Millets was celebrated in 2023.
The United Nations General Assembly declared 2023 the International Year of Millets in March 2021, on a proposal moved by India and supported by more than 70 countries. The aim was to raise awareness of the nutritional value of millets such as jowar, bajra and ragi and of their ability to grow on poor soils with little water.
2020 and 2021 came before the declaration took effect, and 2024 was the year after it. India also renamed millets Shree Anna during the observance.
