National Science Day is observed on 28th February.
It marks the date in 1928 when C. V. Raman announced the discovery of the Raman effect, the scattering of light that won him the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930. The day has been observed since 1987.
22 December is National Mathematics Day (Ramanujan's birthday), 15 September is Engineers' Day (Visvesvaraya's birthday), and 30 June is not associated with science in India.
