Euro celebrated ten years of its existence as a currency on -
Answer: C
The keyed answer is January 1, 2012.
The euro was introduced as a book-keeping currency on 1 January 1999, but euro notes and coins went into circulation on 1 January 2002, when it replaced the national currencies in daily use. The tenth anniversary of the euro as a cash currency was therefore 1 January 2012, which is the date the key takes.
1 January 2000 and 1 January 2001 are only one and two years after the launch, so neither can mark ten years.
