From \( V_a = DV_s \),
\[ D = \frac{240}{400} = 0.6 \]The duty ratio is a fraction between 0 and 1 by definition, so the answers of 1.67 and 160 can be rejected without calculation - the first inverts the ratio and the second is a percentage with the decimal point lost.
