Just one of these quantities is unchanged when a cylinder is cut obliquely. Which?
Answer: B
Correct answer: the length of the stretch-out line
The oblique cut removes material from the top and leaves the base untouched, so the base circumference - and therefore the stretch-out line - is unchanged. The area falls, the upper boundary becomes a curve instead of a straight line, and the longest generator is whatever the cut leaves.
