A man walks 10 m towards the north, then 15 m towards the east, and finally 10 m towards the south. How far and in which direction is he from his starting point ?
Answer: C
Correct answer: 15 m east
The 10 m north and the 10 m south cancel exactly, leaving only the eastward leg.
\[\text{Net displacement} = 15 \text{ m towards the east}\]
The total distance walked is 35 m, but displacement counts only the straight line from start to finish.
