Nithin ends 4 km east and 4 km south of the start; Shyam ends 4 km west and 4 km north. To face Shyam, Nithin must look west and north in equal measure: north-west, the exact opposite of Shyam's south-east.
North alone would ignore the westward separation, and south-east or north-east would point away from Shyam.
