Which method computes omega by integrating the divergence upward?
Answer: B
The kinematic method integrates the horizontal divergence of the observed wind upward from a boundary condition to obtain omega at each level. It is conceptually the most direct approach and practically the least reliable. The adiabatic and isentropic methods use the temperature field instead, and the omega equation combines vorticity and thermal advection into a single elliptic problem. Naming the cost of a choice alongside its benefit is what turns a fact into a design decision.
