Discussion
Arrange the steps of a hot air drying process in order:
1. Air is heated, lowering its relative humidity
2. Ambient air is drawn in by the fan
3. Moist air is exhausted or partly recirculated
4. Air passes through the product and picks up moisture
Select the correct sequence.
Answer: D
Heating raises the air's capacity to carry moisture without changing what it already holds, and the product then supplies that moisture. Recirculating part of the exhaust recovers heat at the cost of a lower drying potential.
