The potential of a uniformly charged disc on its axis, close to the surface, approaches
Answer: D
Near the surface the disc behaves as an infinite sheet, whose field is uniform, and the potential of a uniform field falls linearly with distance. Far away the same disc behaves as a point charge and the potential falls as the inverse first power, so the two regimes are quite distinct and the crossover occurs at distances comparable with the radius.
