If the work done in moving a charge of 3 C from A to B is 12 J, then the potential difference between A and B is
Answer: B
The potential difference is 4 V.
Potential difference is the work done per unit charge in moving a charge between the two points:
\[ \begin{aligned} V &= \frac{W}{q} = \frac{12\ \text{J}}{3\ \text{C}} \\ &= 4\ \text{V} \end{aligned} \]
One volt is one joule per coulomb. 36 V multiplies the work by the charge instead of dividing, and the other values do not come from W/q.
