Statement I: A longer tail arm permits a smaller tail area for the same tail volume coefficient.
Statement II: Tail volume coefficient is the product of tail area and tail arm, normalised on wing reference quantities.
In the light of the above statements, choose the correct answer.
Answer: C
Both are true and the second is exactly why the first holds. It is the single relation a designer leans on hardest when the fuselage length changes, since a stretch hands over tail volume without any change to the surfaces.
