Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra was a maestro of Odissi.
He was the central figure in the revival of Odissi from the 1950s, drawing on the gotipua tradition and on the temple sculpture of Konark and Puri. Sanjukta Panigrahi, Sonal Mansingh and Madhavi Mudgal were among his pupils.
