V.S. Ramadevi, who died in Bengaluru on 17 April 2013, was Governor of Karnataka and of Himachal Pradesh. What else was she?
Answer: B
V.S. Ramadevi was the only woman Chief Election Commissioner of India.
She held the office briefly in late 1990, between R.V.S. Peri Sastri and T.N. Seshan, having earlier been Secretary-General of the Rajya Sabha. She remains the only woman to have held the post.
