Who said “Patriotism is religion and religion is love for India”?
Answer: A
Bankim Chandra Chatterjee gave that formulation.
It expresses the vision of his novel Anandamath (1882), where the motherland is worshipped as a goddess and service to her is a religious duty. The song Vande Mataram, which appears in that novel, gives the idea its most familiar form.
