The National Institute of Foundry and Forge Technology at Hatia, Ranchi was established in 1966 by the Government of India with assistance from the United Nations Development Programme, executed through UNESCO, to train engineers for the foundry and forging industry around Heavy Engineering Corporation. It is now the National Institute of Advanced Manufacturing Technology.
UNICEF works on child welfare, the UGC funds universities and the DST funds science, so none of them was the partner in founding the institute.
