Who built the famous temple of 'Tanot Mata' located about 120 kms from Jaisalmer?
Choose the most appropriate answer from the options given below:
Answer: D
The Tanot Mata temple was built by the Bhati King Tanu Rao.
Tradition credits the Bhati Rajput ruler Tanu Rao with founding Tanot and its temple in the eighth century. The temple, near the India-Pakistan border in Jaisalmer district, became famous during the 1965 and 1971 wars, when, by the well-known account, shells that fell around it failed to explode; it is now looked after by the Border Security Force.
Baba Ramdev is a folk deity with his own shrine at Ramdevra, and Ishwari Singh and Jai Singh II were rulers of Jaipur, unconnected with Tanot.
