Which of the following fort is also called 'Sonar ka fort' ?
Choose the most appropriate option.
Answer: D
It is the Jaisalmer Fort.
Built by Rawal Jaisal in 1156 on Trikuta hill, the Jaisalmer fort is made of yellow sandstone that glows gold in the sun, which is why it is called Sonar Qila or Sonar ka fort, the golden fort. It is one of the forts of Rajasthan on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
Gagron in Jhalawar is a water fort surrounded by rivers, and Bhainsror stands at a river confluence in Chittorgarh district. The Jalore fort stands on the Suvarnagiri ('golden hill'), which is the trap, but it is not the fort known as Sonar ka fort.
