Who was appointed as the chairperson of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) on 9th June 2015 ?
Answer: A
The chairperson appointed on 9 June 2015 was Gajendra Chauhan.
Chauhan, a television actor best known for playing Yudhishthira in the serial Mahabharat, was named chairman of the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, in June 2015. The appointment set off a long students' strike at the institute, who argued that he lacked the standing for the post.
Sharmila Tagore had headed the Central Board of Film Certification, not FTII in 2015. Jawhar Sircar was then the chief executive of Prasar Bharati, and Alka Sirohi was a senior civil servant; neither was made FTII chairperson in 2015.
