A whiteware body contains 30 per cent feldspar. If a works substitutes nepheline syenite and finds 24 per cent gives the same result, what percentage of the flux addition has been saved?
Answer: D
The reduction of six points on a base of thirty is twenty per cent of the original addition. Savings of this kind are weighed against the higher price per tonne of the stronger flux. Total cost per fired piece is what actually decides the substitution.
