All of the following affect the fugacity of a liquid component EXCEPT
Answer: D
Correct answer: the number of components in the mixture
The fugacity of a pure liquid component is its vapour pressure, corrected by the fugacity coefficient at saturation for vapour non-ideality and by the Poynting factor for the pressure difference. All three of those appear in the expression; the number of components does not. Mixture effects enter through the activity coefficient, which multiplies this quantity rather than altering it.
