As per 2011 Census of India, which is the overall sex ratio of the country's population ?
Answer: D
The overall sex ratio of India in the 2011 Census is 940 females per 1,000 males.
The census counted 943 females for every 1,000 males, which is the figure of the provisional totals and is rounded to 940 in the option. It was the highest sex ratio recorded since 1971, up from 933 in 2001.
The values 820 and 840 are far too low for the country as a whole and are nearer the figures for some individual districts. The figure 920 is below the real value by more than 20 points. So 940 is the only one near the census figure.
