When did The Arms Act, 1959, come into force?
Answer: D
The Arms Act, 1959 came into force on 1st October, 1962.
The Act was passed by Parliament in December 1959, but it was brought into force by notification only on 1 October 1962, together with the Arms Rules, 1962, replacing the Indian Arms Act, 1878.
The trap is the year in the Act's title: the Act was not in force in 1959, and the 1960 and 1961 dates in the other options do not match the notification either.
