Who can order for Search and seizure under the Arms Act ?
Answer: A
The answer is Magistrate.
Section 22 of the Arms Act, headed 'Search and seizure by Magistrate', provides that whenever any Magistrate has reason to believe that a person in his jurisdiction has arms for an unlawful purpose, or cannot be left in possession of them without danger to public peace, he may search the premises or have them searched and seize the arms.
The power is given to any Magistrate, not only to the District Magistrate, so option B is too narrow. A 'Commissioner' and an 'Election Commissioner' (printed Etection) are not given this power by the Act.
