The Puga valley in Ladakh is India's most promising geothermal field, with hot springs, borax and sulphur deposits, and has been chosen for a pilot geothermal power project.
Manikaran is in Himachal Pradesh, Surajkund hot spring in Jharkhand, and Tattapani in Chhattisgarh.
